Day Twenty

One estimate in, the Gypsy Wagon trailer chassis.  The number does not make me want to run for the hills screaming.  I'll track the major estimates here as they come in and let you know what I decide to do.

My license plate says "SMPLIFY".  My son told me today that while visiting a Navy post in Monterey over the weekend in my car a guard looked at the license and asked him, "Did you used to be in the Marines?"  I can't stop laughing about it.  Get it?  ;-)

Into the bin today go the following:

1.  A box of Bic Stic pens
2.  A square glass flower vase
3.  A little 3.5" vase with fish on it
4.  A little ceramic statue of a fairy
5.  A 25' garland of hot pink mylar hearts for Valentine's Day

No, can you explain it? With pictures? Pretend I'm a Marine. :-)

  2. That seems like a VERY reasonable price. Cool.

  3. I get the SIP quote tomorrow. Then I need a roof and contents. And of course a new vehicle to tow it with.

  4. I've been wondering if there is a DoT guideline on this sort of thing...I mean, will they let something homemade on a highway?

  5. Yes, you can get something homemade licensed and registered. There are guidelines for the chassis that the trailer manufacturer I'm working with has under control. The rest has to do with dimensions and brakes and lights. I'm in favor of lights and brakes for sure and working on definitive answers about the dimensions now. It can be 8.5' wide which gives me an interior width of 7'10" of usable space. The length is still up in the air. I don't want this to be really big. I'm thinking 12' max and the tongue adds 3.5'. Not difficult to drive. Height is still up in the air. *chuckle chuckle*
